Finishing the floor and picking out sinks

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Despite picking up a conglomeration of many people's sickness, Michael and I went out today to look at bathroom fixtures. We found a really beautiful sink and floating cabinet but it was just a little bit too big for the space - it would have fit but would have felt slightly imposing. So we decided on this sink for which Michael will built a cabinet similar to the one seen in the photo, only it will be made out of bamboo and will cost a lot less than the $2,500 Kohler wants for theirs.

We will use subway tile for the floors as well as halfway up the walls and the entire shower (except for the shower receptor, which will be white). The walls will be painted blue, accented by brown towels, and hardware will be chrome. I still have to decide on a faucet, which is hard as there are many I like and most of them are pretty expensive (figures).

The bedroom will have cork floors and will be painted brown with accents of blue (opposite the bath).

Today Clark is back and he and Michael and putting up the rest of the floor joists and possibly start a wall (not sure which one).

I'm going back to the store for some medicine that doesn't taste so bad that I feel sicker than I actually am!
