The wheels of progress are slow but moving

So it's been a week now since we were able to start moving things into the house. Thus far, I painted the TV wall, which got hung last night; I've gotten the kitchen just about sorted out minus a few more boxes that are still in the garage; I've unpacked a ton of books, though, again, more are in the garage, and we've gotten more furniture in and set up. As everything gets put away it's hard to believe it all came out of so many boxes! All of which are piling up in the back yard until Michael decides which to keep and which to recycle. Oh, we also got a ceiling fan and installed it in the master bedroom. That was an absolute must in this town.

Michael went camping with his brother, sister and nephew from Sunday evening through Tuesday evening. During that time I did much of the aforementioned tasks (except the ceiling fan - that was done before he left). I also managed to get enough out of the garage that my car can now park inside. Now that Michael is back (kind of - yesterday he went rafting down the river with said family and today they are going to Black Chasm Caverns) we'll get the garage even more sorted out so that we can get the Jeep inside, too.

There's one box I really hope to find soon: The box with all the Harry Potter books in it. I packed them all together, including book seven - still in its unopened shipping package. To have opened it would have led to too much distraction! Now I want to find it!!!

Anyway, things are moving along well. The house is comfortable and bigger than I'm used to. Last night there were five people at once in my kitchen! In the old house we would have all been squished and wouldn't have been able to open any drawers or cabinets! We are going to go look at appliances as they all need to be replaced - especially the washing machine. It's a bitch to get the knob to turn to the correct setting, the capacity is lousy and it's completely inefficient in both water and electricity.

Till later... Sláinte
