New furniture arrived on Wednesday and it looks beautiful. I hardly want to go upstairs because the downstairs is such a nice place to be. Now I have to replace the hanging items but have to wait on getting some new frames for a couple pieces and still need to "get a feel" before redecorating with the small stuff. Michael has to sand the ceiling in the entry hall and then I can finish painting that section (I, of course, didn't want to paint it prior to that in case it was accidentally damaged in the process of sanding, etc.) and it will look put together. Anyway, the former will be done this weekend and will eliminate remaining clutter and the latter may be done next weekend... we'll see. (note: the photo shows the table; the chairs are nearly identical except that they are black and the legs are a different shape.)

Michael's accepted a job with a local - LOCAL! - company which he starts on Aug 22. Let's pause, shall we, and do a jig. Jig like you've never jigged before. Hold it, that's getting jiggy with it and not the same. Cease the jiggy. Ok... So he starts the new job on Aug 22 and, ironically, it's directly across the street from my old office - yep the one I left just last week - but still only 3.1 miles (thanks Mapquest) from where I'm now working. He won't have to work nights or weekends or holidays anymore and that is AWESOME. And he won't have to commute 600 miles each week just to do a job that is unrewarding and underpaying. And he will have more time he can use for studying and homework. Personally, I can't wait because I'll get to spend more quality time with him and plan fun stuff with friends and family.

This week at work was all right. There are definitely some walls to hurdle and at least one person who's not so thrilled about having a supervisor (she hasn't had one in a while and the last one she had she didn't get along with) but she'll get over it one way or another. Time will tell, per usual. Overall, it was a good week and I have a lot with which to familiarize myself. They tell me to take my time but they'll soon figure out that I have higher expectations for myself than that.

Have a great night and a wonderful weekend. My sister's in town and we're going to go shopping tomorrow, maybe get pedicures and then I have a bridal shower to attend on Sunday. Oh, and a guy is coming over tomorrow to measure and provide an estimate for new carpet up the stairs and in the master bedroom (and hallway). More prettiness coming soon.

I didn't realize you were a geek. Subnet masking in the new job and such. It's really the field I belong in, not this public service crap. Alas, a rut is a rut. It's one I'm meant to follow for now. Slainte!
